Going To Tepoztlan, Mexico
The quiet, yet busy town of Tepoztlan, just an hour or so outside of Mexico City is one of those fun excursions you can fill a full day with.
My GF and I at the time decided to venture to this town, in hopes of making it to the small pyramid ruins that sit on top of the hill.
The journey itself started early in the morning with a taxi to the Mexico City bus station, and then immediately onto the bus to Tepoztlan.
I made a similar journey by car back in 2018, but arrived too late to climb up the Tepoztlan hill.
This time around, maybe things would go according to plan.

The Journey Up Tepoztlan
While Tepoztlan has stairs leading up to the top, it’s a steep set of stairs. The initial part is a casual climb, but over time it gets more and more difficult.
Either I was not very conditioned, or the change in altitude affected me, or perhaps something else, but this was definitely a long set of stairs to the very top.

Tepoztlan Shortcuts
At one point, my GF and I found a crevice that we thought could prove to be a wonderful shortcut. We climbed up as much as possible, and she climbed up even more than I did, but neither of us really knew where it went. After about half an hour of struggling, we decided to head back down to the supposed main path.

A Flurry of Amazing Views
As we struggled and sweated our way slowly to the top, we were astonished by the amazing views of the surrounding landscapes. Along with the intense exercise, these were the highlights of the journey. Lots of selfies for sure.

Getting Nude & Motivational Videos on Tepoztlan
After a tough trek of more than 2 hours (maybe less), we managed to scrape our way to the very top.
I decided this was a perfect opportunity for two things; make a motivational video, and go nude for the world to see 😉

Tepoztlan Conclusions
If you have a chance to visit Tepoztlan, then you definitely need to do it.
Either go as a simple tourist and browse the shops and restaurants, or go as a trekker, and try climbing the hill, either halfway, or all the way to the top.
While we didn’t manage to see the pyramids because they were closed at the time, the journey to the top was definitely worth it.
As always,
Leonidas
