While wandering around Yekaterinburg, Russia – Home of Russia’s First President, there was a fun exhibit on the streets, featuring Communist propaganda against the Nazis in World War 2.
Since I loved playing WW2 video games as a kid, and watched a lot of WW2 content about the epic Eastern Front (Communist Russia vs. Fascist Germans), I was quite excited to share these Translated World War 2 USSR/Communist Propaganda Posters.

World War 2 USSR/Communist Propaganda Posters

There were battles in forests, by rivers…
Grandfathers once piked them,
And today, grandsons nosedive at them
(Napoleon: “Oh! This is nothing like Germany!”
Hitler: “Oh! This is nothing like France!”)

In the day, fascist told the peasants:
“Take the hats off your heads!”
At night, he gave back the partisans
His cap, along with his head.

EVERYTHING FOR THE FRONT! EVERYTHING FOR THE VICTORY!

Its outlook is terribly narrow:
It can only snort “Mein Kampf”,
Its ideal is a feldwebel (sergeant-major) boot!
(Signs under the boot: University, School, Courses)

(Words on the tanks: KOLKHOZNIK OF KYRGYZSTAN)
Where are you going, you, filthy fritz? You’d better not go against our soldiers!

Mercilessly drown the fascist bastards!
SHOOT THE ENEMY WITHOUT MISSING!

(Sign on the wagon: General Headquarters)

Thunder comes from the sky and the land,
The “Axis” pillar starts crumbling.
Very soon the two bandits
Will suffer a great defeat.

Over the enemy city.
Every time they shake their hands –
The fascist Germany cracks.
(The bombs hit Berlin)

Hitler was afraid of these pincers,
More than other disturbing things…
The time is coming: gripped by the pincers,
The damned bandit will be crushed!

These communist propaganda posters made me realise how different the time we live in now is from what was happening in the world 50 years ago. Maybe people will be looking at our modern posters and have the same thoughts? Anyway, thanks for sharing the posters, Leonidas, they were very educational.
You are very welcome Adam 🙂
